LONG-TERM WORKSHOPS
The Animar project of Curtas Metragens C.R.L.'s Educational Service has organized a series of long-term workshops every year as part of its ongoing work with schools in the region. These initiatives provide students and their teachers with contact with various tools in the field of cinema, covering different age groups, from 3 to 18 years old.
Workshop guided by Natália Azevedo Andrade
12th grade class at José Régio Secondary School, Vila do Conde
Creation of a short narrative based on capturing visual and audio impressions of the Museu das Rendas de Bilros de Vila do Conde, with the motto of exploring memory. Through the superimposition of different materials, such as thread, lace, cardboard, drawing on paper and objects from the bobbin lace imaginary, the students will interpret passages from the lace makers' memories. Using experimental animation methods, objects and cut-outs, the participants will learn to convey their ideas easily and intuitively, taking advantage of the dynamics of the technique.
Workshop guided by Patrícia Rodrigues and Joana Nogueira
Children between the ages of 6 and 13 from the Children's Home of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vila do Conde
This workshop will explore the theme of portraiture and self-portraiture, the observation of others and the opportunity to look inwards. Participants will be challenged to create metaphorical self-portraits, abstracting from the physical image and focussing on psychological and emotional characteristics, through the exploration of different materials and traditional animation plastic techniques.
Workshop guided by Maria Trigo Teixeira
Residents of the Rainha Dona Leonor Centre, Vila do Conde
Based on participants' childhood memories, this workshop proposes the creation of a collective film, exploring various animation and set construction techniques. Techniques such as object animation, cut-out animation and frame-by-frame animation will be used to capture and express the emotions and feelings evoked by these memories.
