On March 8th, at 4 PM, the opening of the ANIMAR 20 exhibition took place at Solar - Cinematic Art Gallery. This exhibition celebrates Portuguese animation cinema and marks an important milestone commemorating two decades of continuous programming.

Guests experienced enriching interactions with the exhibiting artists, and the day was highlighted by a special screening of the award-winning film Flow, directed by Gints Zibalodis, an inspiration as the Oscar winner for Best Animated Film.

The exhibition will host a series of activities until it closes on June 7th. Highlights include: Meet the Artists, a group of thematic workshops guided by the exhibiting artists; an open-air cinema screening of all the films in the exhibition; and a closing session with Paul Berger's film Robot Dreams, but also the making-of and the screening of the short films produced during Animar's Long Term Workshops will also be screened.

The Animar project, promoted by Solar - Cinematic Art Gallery and promoted by Curtas Metragens C.R.L.'s Educational Service, proposes new tools, means and methodologies that introduce the principle of learning through a participatory experience. It results from an innovative proposal to raise awareness of art, decode the image and mobilize transversal knowledge, stimulating the imagination through the principle of learning by playing.
