The 32nd edition of Curtas Vila do Conde is dedicating the In Focus program to him, in which a significant part of his work in short film will be shown, as well as a White Card made up of major names in the history of cinema, such as Federico Fellini, Walerian Borowczyk, Marguerita Duras, Tony Hill or Bogdan Dziworski, whose films have influenced the way he thinks about his cinema.

Five teenagers commit a savage crime for which they’re incarcerated on a ship by a Dutch captain. Stuck on a cruise trip which becomes increasingly repressive, they rebel and arrive on an island with exotic plants and hidden pleasures. Mandico’s first feature film, “The Wild Boys” premiered at the Venice Film Festival’s Critics Week, having been elected as the year’s best film by Cahiers du Cinema.
